Brotherhood & Women’s Ministry

WOMENS MINISTRY

Ruth Circle, Naomi Circle, Hannah Circle

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates (Proverbs 31:31).

Greater Community First Baptist Church Women’€™s Auxiliary endeavors to create an atmosphere where women can realize spiritual maturity and fellowship, develop their leadership skills, and minister in the local church, their community and the world.

Our dedicated women are making a significant difference in their communities by their commitment to devote their time, talents and finances to promote the goals enunciated in the Women’€™s Auxiliary statement of purpose.

Women are encouraged to accept their responsibility as women of God who will offer themselves as living sacrifices, acceptable and pleasing to God; be devoted to one another in love, honoring one another above themselves; serve God and their church with zeal, keeping their spiritual fervor; joyfully hope; be patient in affliction and faithful in prayer; share with God’€™s people who are in need; and practice hospitality. The verses found in Romans 12:1, 10-13 are the foundations for these aspirations. Women are also encouraged to be committed to teaching the younger women, as outlined in Titus 2:4.

MENS MINISTRY

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren
to dwell together in unity!€
Psalms 133:1

We endeavor to call men into vital relationships with each other; in mutual pursuit of authentic manhood. To teach men to reject passivity, accept responsibility, lead courageously, thereby expecting God’€™s greater rewards. To teach men to become men God uses to evangelize the lost, establish them in their faith and equip them for service at Greater Community First Baptist Church, our community, and the world.

The mission of the Brotherhood Ministry is to unite all brothers into serving God, the Church, and the community.  Together, we strive to increase our Christian maturity by encouraging growth in relationship with God and letting Christ assume full control over our lives.  As Christian men, we will lead our households in a manner that is pleasing to God.

Goals:

  • Help men grow in Christ

  • Help men develop much needed relationships with other men in the church

  • Move men out of the pews and onto the “mission field”

  • Develop mentors

  • Strengthen family relationships

For I know the plans I have for you,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me,
and I will listen to you.
You will seek Me and find Me,
when you seek Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:11-13
